As lifelong storytellers and ardent Marvel and DC fans, Creative Extreme co-founders Christopher Ikpoh and Steffon Thomas started the company in 2016 because they had a bold mission: to give people of color a voice inside the superhero genre by creating immersive universes with powerful, grounded storytelling, something they felt Marvel and DC were falling behind on and neglecting.

“While Marvel and DC, along with the entrainment industry in general, have made the much needed push to diversify their casts and content, we and most people of color want to see us as more than sidekicks, smaller projects, and ‘Hand Me Down’ heroes as Steffon phrases it, where we are just given existing characters and stories repackaged as different races, ethnicities, sexes/genders, etc.”

Their first comic book universe, Project365, launched with a unique concept: by dropping one original character for each day of 2016! Every character from Liberty Star to Musashi, LtGen. Rashard Bonds, and Captain Noble have their own set of powerful abilities and skills, origin stories, and connections to each other through interwoven world-building.

This led to the creation of “Trinity”, The Creative Extreme's cinematic and streaming/TV universe of teleplays and screenplays based on Project365, which have been pitched to major studios and production companies, an upcoming web series, and a short film, Alpha Initiative Zero, based on characters initially introduced in the graphic novel of the same name, currently streaming on Vetstream TV.

“The Creative Extreme has introduced an entirely original universe with hundreds of characters and stories with the goal of breathing new life into the comic book, film, and streaming/TV scenes. Our focus was, and always is, compelling and exciting storytelling first, built on originality and diversity in not just the characters we create, but in story representation, as well. We strive to tell the tales of people from all ethnicities, cultures, religions, lifestyles, etc., in a grand way, offering fresh perspectives on age-old story types using our unique real-world experiences as people of color,” says Chris.

“With upcoming projects such as Ghost Orphanage - John Wick with swords meets the supernatural, Rathegalia: Endowment of Blood - Game of Thrones meets Castlevania, and Requisite- The Raid: Redemption meets Saw, The Creative Extreme is excited to introduce our content to the world through new mediums, powered by our motto: Imagination Without Limitation Is The Only Expectation! WE GOT NEXT!”, says Steffon.
