A new iron enforcer! TMNT NIGHTWATCHER hits the streets!

From the sewers to the alleys of New York we find ourselves in a very familiar scene and we expect 4 mutant turtles of the teenage variety with a penchant for pizza and kicking foot clan butt to pop in! But what happens when they don’t……

The M bomb has gone off, leaving a wake of destruction, hysteria, and maybe even worse hate. People have started to mutate to a primal form and have been sectioned off as the rest of the city is angry at the difference but also extremely scared. With the turtles spread out and not present we find a lost soul who was once human herself before living the shell life! Jennika is also full of anger like the people that fear her, but is focused as well on building a life in Mtown. But what happens on one fateful day when she receives a gift or as some may consider a curse, she becomes NIGHTWATCHER which may bring her the peace she needs or destroy her entirely…..

Writer Juni Ba and artists Fero Pe did an excellent job not only capturing the new mutants and showing them interact in everyday scenarios but also writing them in a way that we feel the pain of being suddenly transformed and having to start life anew. We also get to see Jennika really grow and learn a different path to using her anger and temper then the way we saw Raphael use his!

If you ever wanted to just jump into a tmnt story without getting too caught up on previous lore this book does a great job of showing a full story and explaining why Jennika and her story are so important and a powerhouse that she is.
